Cactus Appearance Cancelled

Due to unforseen circumstances Paolo is having to cancel his show as part of this year's Cactus Festival in Belgium on Friday 6th July 2012.

Paolo has to be in recording studios in New York at this time and is massively disappointed to have to miss the festival.

Paolo has been replaced on the bill by The TING TINGS.

Giving people 10 days notice also isn't acceptable! Paolo has let a lot of people down with this, I hope he realizes that.

    Thanks Caitlyn :-)

We were looking forward to this concert for months :( Only bought tickets to see you... Nevertheless, "my hopes are still high" and i do hope this was the first and last time you've let us down like this

I,like many other people on this forum, am bitterly disappointed that Paolo is not playing tonight. I only found out this morning as I wished to check the schedule for the day. My boyfriend, had bought tickets as a surprise. What a complete waste of money. I really hope you read this Paolo, because I would like to remind you that it is your fans who buy your CD's and your fans who spend their hard earned money on concerts that you can't be bothered to attend. Given the choice between attending a recording session (which I'm sure you could have rescheduled) and a concert that huge scores of your fans have bought tickets for, the choice is clear. If you do read this and still believe that you made the right choice by not honouring your commitment to your fans, then you are in the wrong business my friend. A personal apology is the least you can do. Although I think that full refunds would be more appropriate.

Anyhow - he must have some reasons for this. And his management too.
    Wait and see!!!

    Very well expressed - JC72.

:-( really disappointed! cancelled the trip, the money for the tickets wasted ...

Besides you didn't read well (I said "my thoughts at the moment"), what's the definition of a big fan?
Somebody who accepts everything of someone no matter what?
You can't look in my mind, you can't look into my heart, so you can't tell what I am or what I'm not.
And you for sure don't determine what I'm worthy of or not.

You didn't looked forward for months to see the concert, didn't spend the money.
And isn't it just how more you wanted to see the concert the more disappointed it is?
What about the younger fans who saved money for months, aren't able to travel to other places for a concert
and ask their parents "why isn't he coming?".., will this sound explicable "well ehhh.., he had some other important thing to do..".
What would you say if the local bus driver in the morning didn't show up for all the people who needed to go to work?
Or if you go on vacation and 3 days before you hear you can't go because the pilot has other plans?
Or can they put an arm around you too and all is ok again? It's a job! And a job has obligations!
And all could be softened a lot if Paolo just has the deceny to spent a minute to leave a personal message.

There has been 3 years since his last album, he is recording for months now, the Cactus Festival was planned more than 3 months ago!
Nobody noticed a double booking? Nobody estimated they wouldn't have enough recording time? I say a big failure of the planner(s).

By the way I don't see any mail adress where you can drop your disappointment/complaint?
You can order something, you can leave technical issues, but no feedback?
Will they even read this and know there are people correctly disappointed?

No Naathalie, I don't think this was unavoidable and he should not have cancelled. To say it is't fun for us is derisive. It cost me £650 - money entirely wasted. I won't be able to afford another trip this year and would hesitate to risk the same thing again.

I will always buy his music and still go to concerts. I'm just very unhappy this has to happen. We pay money for it and we just wanted to get what we paid for.
But can't wait to hear his new album

  • 05.07.2012 @ 18:18:43PM - Naathalie

Do you guys really think he would cancel unless it was something he couldn't get out of? Do you think he's not sorry about this? Of course it isn't fun for those who bought tickets only for him and travelled a long way, of course it would suck. But those who say that Paolo lost a "big fan" and those who say they will never buy a concert ticket to one of his shows again..you are/were obviously not a big fan! If you stop supporting him for one cancelled concert you aren't worthy of being called a paolo-fan anyways. The new album is without a doubt going to be amazing, those of you who aren't going to buy it because of this-your loss!

  • 05.07.2012 @ 13:17:59PM - JohannaM

Still can't believe I'm not getting a refund for cancelled apearance in Brugge, 80 euros down the drain. I'm
sorry I ever bought tickets for advertised concert in Belgium.Watch Out this could be you! A signed copy
of new CD sent to my home address would be a nice gesture of cmpensation.

  • 05.07.2012 @ 00:13:36AM - Haffie

This Sucks Man! I bought 4 tickets to just find out that you won't be there...guess I won't be there waiting for you after all...

  • 04.07.2012 @ 20:54:23PM - EllenDS

    I'm so dissapointed!
I also just bought tickets just for you.
Now I just wasted my money.
Something in return would be nice, even if it was just a personal sorry!

  • 03.07.2012 @ 19:47:38PM - JC72

By the way I kind of accidentally checked this website to see if there was CD news so I feel sorry for the fans who won't check this or the Cactus website and will only find out arriving at the Festival.

    My hopes were high
but when I saw the cancellation
my eyes couldn't Believe what they saw,
    Give me something to believe
    Maybe the new CD ;-)

  • 03.07.2012 @ 19:45:46PM - JC72

It would be decent by the way if Paolo would bring out a personal message or videoclip to show a sincer sorry or explanation that it was really impossible to miss a few studio hours.

Or maybe it's a nice gesture to the fanclubmembers who can show a copy of the ticket of the Cactus Festival to receive the new recorded CD this is all about???
It's not about the value.., but the feeling..

  • 03.07.2012 @ 11:56:38AM - JC72

    Paolo, this reason is UNACCAPTABLE!
These fans you're letting down now are the same fans who you want to buy your new CD! Will they still?
These fans are the same fans that spend money on tickets for you, buy traveltickets, hoteltickets, take a leave day of work to see you in one of your shows.
Some follow and support you for years now and have been to different countries and multiple shows for you (the same as me).
They tell their friends about you, they are you..
Even if there was only one fan at the cactus festival.
My thoughts of the moment are that you lost a big fan..
As one musician to another.., shame on you :-(.

  • 03.07.2012 @ 06:44:35AM - Bine64

    Hey Paolo,
I know the new album will be worth it which you promised us since last september....;-)
But, do you think it´s such a good idea to annoy your fans???
Anyway, I´m just nosey about news.....

  • 02.07.2012 @ 19:14:20PM - JohannaM

Not as disappointed as I am to lose 80euros wasted on 2 tickets for nothing
or does Paolo think he is that easily
replaced? Does he even care? Maybe he
should be more careful of lending his
name to a festival to ensure ticket sales and then decide not to appear.
    How's about a refund pal?

  • 01.07.2012 @ 21:24:14PM - Shurst

Thanks Paolo, after seeing you at the Lucca summer festival I booked a trip to Bruges especially for your concert and convinced 6 others come too and now it's cancelled last minute without good cause! I've wasted my time and a lot of money and that of my friends. I think this will be the last time will book for one of your concerts! Hope the new album is worth letting down your fans.
