    Last night Paolo Nutini was nominated for the prestigious Best British Male award at this years Brit Awards. Paolo's up against impressive competition; Thom Yorke, Jarvis Cocker, Lemar and James Morrison are all also nominated, so please join us in wishing him the very best of luck.     Paolo Nutini joins MTV's Freshmen competition this week.

    Each week five new music videos go up against each other in a public vote, with the winner getting automatic rotation on MTV.

    Vote for Paolo's 'New Shoes' video at the MTV website <a href="http://www.mtvu.com/music/freshmen" target="_blank">here</a>.

    Fans in the U.S. can also vote via mobile phone - just text the word FRESHMAN to 22422 (standard messaging rates apply).

    Voting begins at 11am on Monday 1/15 and ends at 11:59am on Friday 1/19.

    Kicking off in the Windy City of Chicago on January 25, Paolo's tour will take in some of North America's greatest cities.

  • Paolo Pays Tribute To Ahmet Ertegun

    Ahmet Ertegun, the founder of Atlantic Records, sadly passed away on Thursday December 14. Paolo Nutini adds his voice to the tributes.

    Ahmet was personally responsible for giving many important artists - including Paolo - their big break, and he leaves behind him a vast musical legacy.

    Atlantic Records have put together a special tribute website to commemorate the great man's life, and the video section features Paolo recalling his first meeting with Ahmet and footage from Paolo's appearance at the Ahmet Ertegun tribute concert during this year's Montreux Jazz Festival.
